THE FIRST EVENT

From sign-up to your first photo magnet

A quiet rehearsal at home, then a confident day at your stall.

1. Make your maker account

Sign up, then save your business name and press sizes in the studio. Your 14-day trial starts when you save business setup; no card is needed. A maker account is separate from a guest uploading a photo—your guests do not need an account or an app.

2. Check your cutter once

In Plan & setup, enter your own face, bleed, wrap and cut measurements for each size. Sager, Enterprise Products, Mpro, Titan, British makes and custom cutters can have different dimensions. Around 120gsm photo paper is a useful starting point.

Print the calibration sheet at Actual size / 100%, measure its 100mm ruler, cut and press one sample. Confirm the measurements only when that physical test works. A suggested 50mm square profile still needs your own check.

3. Rehearse before paying for a weekend

Create a practice event in Live queue & events. Set the sizes and prices you offer, open the guest-page preview and scan its QR code from another phone. Upload a test photo, check it arrives in your queue, open the print sheet and make one magnet. Practise payment notes and collection, too.

You can prepare during your trial. Outside the trial, purchase the event pass when you are ready to use it—not weeks before the event.

4. Choose the pass for your event

Basic event · £14: event orders and calibrated printing. Pro event · £20: adds event mosaics and 100 AI generations.

Buy in Plan & setup. Each pass lasts 72 hours from payment. If you already have a pass, the next starts when it ends. Event generations are available only during their pass and unused event generations expire with it. An event pass does not include a year-round postal shop, Pro branding or reusable artwork. For regular trading, compare the monthly plans.

5. Pack the bench

  • Printer, paper, press, cutter, magnet parts and a checked test sample.
  • Charged phone or laptop, chargers and your event QR sign.
  • Confirmed prices, payment choices and gift codes if you use them.
  • Your studio opened while you have signal, ready for local order backup.

For online customer payments, complete your own Stripe account verification in Payments. Your own card reader and cash remain separate options. Do not assume an unfinished Stripe setup can take a payment.

6. Take orders, make magnets

With a connection, guests scan your sign, choose a photo, crop it and send their order. Check the live queue, print the matching saved cutter layout, make the magnets and set “Ready to collect”. Record cash or your separate reader payment accurately; an online payment should show confirmed before you treat it as paid. Opening a print preview does not mark an order made.

When signal drops, keep taking typed orders and recording cash sales. Those records stay on that device until it reconnects. Guest uploads, AI and online payments still need signal; photo transfer by AirDrop or supported Bluetooth is outside the website, and Relic does not yet import or print those photos offline.

7. Hand over and close the day

Mark orders collected when handed over. Check takings and sync any saved no-signal records before clearing storage or changing devices. Resolve uncollected orders promptly: photos expire at the earliest of 48 hours after collection, 24 hours after cancellation or 14 days after upload, including uncollected orders. Delete downloaded photos and print sheets within the same deadline.

For a payment refund, use the payment provider; marking an order cancelled does not itself refund it.
